To be announced fully tomorrow is the clubs plans for free and subsidised travel to the FA Cup replay against Middlesbrough a week on Wednesday. Apparently there will be subsidised plane, free train and already known about free bus. I will keep in touch on here to let regular readers know

I am the bearer of bad news. The pigeon that was making TV and news headlines after grabbing the crowds attention at half time at Sunday's match with the Geordies has apparently died, well been eaten. I have picked up from my browsing on the internet that the bird was still there on Monday morning and a hawk picked it up. This came from the mouth of a steward.

Come on fellow Addicks fans, we are on the approach of our biggest match in 5 years (part 2). In two Wednesday's time, we will travel to Boro to play in the replay of the FA Cup quarter final. The club are paying for ticket holder's travel up there. We really need the support to cheer our lads on. So come on fans, buy your tickets and come to Boro to cheer the boys to victory!

As our usual drummers won't be at the Boro replay, I have been asked to bring my mate Chris' drum to lift the atmosphere. After ringing boro with no help at all, I rung Charlton, got put through to the safety officer and he said he would contact Boro but wasn't sure of the result and I would know tomorrow. Forum member and friend of mine Nick Rice rung Boro about it and spoke to the safety officer who asked if he was me. He said no but said he knew me, and they said that he could tell me that I was allowed to bring a drum! Amazing so get ready for some C-A-F-C and red army chanting! Lets take the home match atmosphere to the riverside!

Scott 'judas moneygrabbing idiot spotty face' Parker returned to The Valley for the first time since moving to Chelsea 2 years ago yesterday with Newcastle United. This was a match I had been looking forward to for the sole reason of booing Parker himself. A fairly slow start was livened with chants against this judas twat and then even more when we had a penalty awarded to us after an awful tackle on Jerome Thomas in the area. None other than Darren Bent stepped up to hit it home and give us a deserved lead.
10 minutes to go before half time, I decided to go down and get a pint before the queues started. Unlucky for me I missed two goals from 2 former Charlton players. One for us, one against. And yes it had to be that judas Parker that scored one of them to equal the game. I have to give it to him, it was an amzing goal seen by me on the screen. Newcastle could only hold their Geordie luck for a minute and after a free kick from us, the ball played ping pong inside the Newcastle box and went into their goal from Lee Bowyer! WOOO! 2-1 up at half time. We should have been further ahead after a couple of near misses from Darren Bent, but 2-1 was good for me!
The second half was pretty rubbish, especially when Marcus Bent missed a perfectly good chance to secure the match. But lo and behold, Curbs made a wonder subsitution in the 88th when he took Marcus Bent off for Jay Bothroyd who with his first touch, a cross from Rommedahl, headed the ball into the Geordie net for our 3rd goal and the match secured. The Valley erupted, left happy and moved up to 11th.

A night where Charlton's backroom staff tried their hardest to raise the atmosphere by booking Tony Christie to sing Amarillo which did lift the crowd and everyone, even in the East and West sung 'We Sent the Palace Down' at the top of their voices. This continued into the match with the atmosphere seeming to rub off onto the players as we dominated the first half. Chance after chance came and it looked as if we were going to get into the Semi's for the first time since we lifted the trophy. But unfortunately for us all these chances came to nothing and after a fairly dismal second half the match fizzled into a 0-0 draw. Sadly this meant we have to go up to Boro in 3 weeks for the replay and after that a chance to play West Ham in the Semi's at Villa Park.

The Lyrics to Queen's Don't Stop Me Now is appropriate to tonight's massive fixture against Boro in the FA Cup Quarter Final, one of our biggest matches in years! We really have to get behind the boys tonight and cheer them on to cup glory. So COME ON YOU REDS!!!

Arsenal stepped up the pressure on north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur n the race for the final Champions League place with a 3-0 demolition of Charlton Athletic at Highbury.

Robert Pires scored from close range following a fine, flowing move by the home side inside quarter of an hour, with Emmanuel Adebayor knocking in a second before the break after an error by Charlton defender Hermann Hreidarsson.

The impressive Alexander Hleb added a third five minutes into the second half as the Gunners recorded three successive Barclays Premiership wins at a canter.

It could have been more for Arsenal with the hosts simply outclassing Alan Curbishley's men, who face an FA Cup quarter-final tie with Middlesbrough on Thursday.

Despite the glowing pre-match recommendation for his opposite number, who has been in talks with the Football Association over the England manager's job, Arsene Wenger's side were in determined mood to get a positive result right from kick-off.

A long ball forwards from Emmanuel Eboue picked out Adebayor on the edge of the penalty area after just four minutes. Centre-back Chris Perry hesitated, and the Togo striker hit a low shot goalwards, which Thomas Myhre did well to beat away.

The African was soon presented with another golden opportunity. Full-back Jonathan Spector managed to trip over the ball, some 25 yards out.

Adebayor was on to it like a flash, racing into the penalty area. He hesitated somewhat, however, which allowed the American to dash back and make a fine saving tackle.

Charlton were in danger of being over-run in midfield and Arsenal went ahead on 13 minutes. Hleb won the ball from former Arsenal trainee Jerome Thomas, and sped away down the right.

He fed Thierry Henry, who in turn picked out Adebayor on the edge of the box. A quick one-two released the Gunners captain down the left side, for him to surge to the goal-line and cut a pass back to Pires, who could not miss.

Arsenal almost went 2-0 ahead when Henry turned Hreidarsson inside out, before lashing his shot just over the crossbar.

On 20 minutes, Henry's sweeping centre from the right found Adebayor at the far post and his towering, downward header was only just wide.

A foul by Philippe Senderos on Luke Young gave Charlton a chance to pressurise the Arsenal penalty area.

Dennis Rommedahl's free-kick from the right touchline was flicked on by Jason Euell, but it was too close to Jens Lehmann.

But it was 2-0 on 32 minutes. Henry's through-ball should have been cut out by Hreidarsson, 15 yards from his own goal.

However, the Icelander's control allowed it to squirm away from him, and right to the waiting Adebayor, who slid in to hook the ball past Myhre.

To their credit, Charlton did not let their work-rate drop, but too often both England striker Darren Bent and winger Rommedahl saw promising runs checked by an offside flag.

With two minutes to go until half-time, Cesc Fabregas' deflected effort was well held by Myhre.

Arsenal were soon in the ascendancy following the restart and, after 49 minutes, they were 3-0 ahead.

Hleb was allowed to surge to the edge of the area and shoot, with Hreidarsson making a brave block.

Spector then threw himself in the path of Adebayor's strike from the rebound, only for Hleb to then lash the loose ball into the net.

It was now one-way traffic, with Charlton unable to get out of their own half for long spells.

As the hour mark approached, Pires had a low strike deflected just wide of the far post by Hreidarsson.

Henry then jinked his way across the edge of the Charlton area, before curling a left-footed strike just wide.

With 20 minutes left, substitute Dennis Bergkamp flashing an angled drive over the bar from the corner of the penalty area.

The tempo of the match dropped during the closing stages, with the home side seeming content with the outcome.

And Arsenal comfortably played out the remaining few minutes to secure a third straight Barclays Premiership win as the fortunes of the Champions League quarter-finalists continued to improve.

A warm up/dress rehearsal for the FA Cup quarter final this match was dubbed by some. Smertin leaving on Friday could have affected the players and it possibly did in the first half with the midfield lacking a bit of ummph that the Russian brought to the team. But despite that this fairly boring match turned out to be a classic. At half time with the scores 0-0 I did think to myself that it may be our 4th 0-0 in a row. I would have been gutted with that. Getting on in the second half with the drummer and J block massive still singing, Chris Powell hit a fairly low cross into the box, mistaking the Boro defence and reaching the head of Darren Bent who could do nothing but hit the ball into the net. 1-0. Crowd goes massive, all we have to do is hold this for 15+ minutes and the 3 points are ours. Unfortunately, Mark Viduka found a gap in our defence and let leash an unstoppable chip above Thomas Myhre into the back of the net, I wasn't sure it was in until he went to grab the ball out of the goal. Damnit. A win looked like it was thrown away.

Lucky for us we wern't finished there! A great piece of play meant Luke Young was gifted with the ball just inside the area, I thought he might create another Liverpool moment, which I think he wanted as I'm sure he took a shot, which went past the far post for Darren Bent to score his second and surely the winner. Again cue mental crowd celebrations and a great win wrapped up with Chrissy's tunnel celebrations :D Oh yeah and money for me for my bets :D

Alexis Smertin ended his Charlton loan deal today and returned to Chelsea to then be shipped off to Dinamo Moscow in a permanent deal. I recieved the info on a Sky Sports News alert on my phone where it said he had quoted "Dynamo's offer was very interesting. I like the ambition of the board. I saw a lack of that at Charlton after winning so often at Chelsea"

Excuse me Alexis?! Ok so we're still in for a good shot at winning the FA Cup, certainly better than Pompey and he says that we lack 'ambition'. I'm sorry but despite being one of the most consistent players this season, saying stuff like this it is good to say goodbye to him!

Yes the famous Shalalala chant will be in full flow at our FA Cup Quarter Final against Boro when Tony Christie will be on the pitch before the match to perform Amarillo. This will hopefully psyche up the Valley crowd to cheer on the lads to glory and into the Cardiff semi final! Come on you reds!!!

Well not much I can say about this one! Three 0-0 draws in a row. At least we arent losing! Seemed from internet commentary that Liverpool were all over us apart from chances from Brian Hughes, Jonothan Spector and Darren Bent. I'll take it and just hope we win in our FA Cup 'Dress Rehearsal' next Sunday
