Match Report: England 2 - 2 Sweden

We have won the group. But if half of the nation haven't died from half attacks, we will be playing Ecuador in Round 2. Today's match against Sweden was a poor one. Rooney started with Owen but 1 minute in, Owen injured himself, and it looked bad! It looks as if he will miss the whole of the world cup now! But England picked themselves up and minutes before half time, Joe Cole scored one of the goals of the tournament! We went in 1-0 at Half Time.
Minute after Half Time, Sweden scored to equalise. Pathetic defending continued when Sweden hit the bar twice and we were lucky to still be in the match. At the end of the Second half, Gerrard headed a Joe Cole cross into their net and we were back infront. But as usual our defenders missed a long throw in and Henrik Larsson equaled the game. Thats how it finished. We have won the group, but when we play a half decent team, my god are we in trouble!

Match Report: England 2 - 0 Trinidad and Tobago.

There is not much to report on this relitively boring match except Wayne Rooney played 30 minutes and Gary Neville was replaced by Jamie Carragher due to injury. It was such a boring game and one in which England showed nothing that would prove to the English Faithful that we had a chance in this tournament, especially after watching Spain! IN the last 10 minutes we did get 2 goals, Peter Crouch kind of made up for his terrible efforts earlier in the game with a header to put us infront, then Steven Gerrard unleased a screamer to make it 2-0. It was a great final 10 minutes, but nothing else was!

Match Report: England 1 - 0 Paraguay

Our first match was a dissapointing one in my opinion. Rooney was on the bench, Crouch and Owen up front, Beckham Joe Cole Lampard and Gerrard in Midfield with Neville Ferdinand Terry and Ashley Cole at the back. Robinson was in goal.
It was a great start and within a couple of minutes a Beckham free kick was headed into the net by a Paraguay defender and we were 1-0 up. To be honest this lasted throughout the match. England should have won the game by 5 or 6 but it was not to be. We are top of our group with 3 points and thats the most important thing. Now where's those Tobagians!!

England Expects

The feeling is high, the nation wants that gold trophy back home, 40 years of hurt and we open our campaign tomorrow against Paraguay. The starting team is yet to be announced, but lets hope that it will be one of our strongest ever. I doubt Rooney will start but he could be possibly put on the bench. Whatever happens, we all know that millions of us English will be watching one of thousands of screens at 2pm. COME ON ENGLAND!

England's first match, I cannot wait! Where will you be watching it? I will be round a mates house drinking beer and having a BBQ, oh the joy!

I have been having problems with publishing to the site, sorry that there has been no updates. But yep, we were not in the fair play draw cos of some cock up between the FA and UEFA, Elton John has performed a concert at The Valley and Luke Young has been offered a new contract, despite the rumours he has handed his transfer request in. Please don't go Luke, please!

Europe possibility? Fair Play!

This sunday will see if Charlton have the luck of the draw when the final Fair Play League UEFA Cup spots will be up for grabs. Will be an even bigger challenge for Dowie if we get a spot!
